After about three weeks of working on this, I finally got my new hood finished. I spent about 40 hours prepping and fitting it. It's a fiberglass hood and I had to cut out and mud in those darn scoops and then shape the curve around the headlights (it was way off). I work at a body shop for summer employment (I'll be a Junior in college this fall) so I got a great deal on the paint work. The painter put on extra clear and wet sanded and buffed the ENTIRE hood. He even got out a "mini rotary" and buffed in and around the scoops. In these pics the hood has no wax or glaze type fillers of any kind on it. The rest of the car has SMR, SEC, and S100. The last coat of S100 was put on about two weeks ago. I know the pics were taken in the evening, and that is considered cheating when it comes to black, but I work all day, so it's my only option. Trust me, I didn't need to cheat
Let me know how you guys think it turned out.
