New Here from Midcoast Maine

Hi, I'm new to the Autopia.com forum but I've been active on several other detailing forums with the same moniker for the past three years.

I live in cool, damp Midcoast Maine.

I'm strictly a friends and family detailer, not a pro.

Aside from detailing my interests are craft beer, films, reading, dogs, horticulture/landscape design/gardening, music & high end home audio, bicycling, good food and hanging out with friends.

welcome bruce, due to visit southwest harbor this summer. you'll learn a bunch here. great pros willing to share their knowledge.

I'm always available for advice and suggestions on visiting Maine although Bucksport/Orland/Castine south to the New Hampshire border is the part I know well. Downeast is kind of off my turf as is the County.
If you haven't already booked the dates I always recommend September through Columbus Day as the prime visiting period. Both the tourists and the insects have substantially thinned out by then but the weather is usually still nice. The 4th of July through Labor Day weekend is peak tourist season. Spring and much of June is fairly unpredictable weather-wise, it can be really nice but it is just as likely to be rainy and cold plus it is peak mosquito season. May and early June usually have the pleasures of black-flies as well.
