I've been following the forum for a while now, and was just able to get signed up.

I am a weekend detail fanatic who has too little knowledge and too little time, but lots of interest.

It all started in 1990 with a 1988 black/silver Mustang GT. That paint was terrible. I used to spend Friday nights with my buddies and a couple bottles of McGuire's #9 to get rid of the oxidation.

Now, 15 years later, I am looking at getting a little better with my technique, tools, and products.

I am looking at stocking a home garage set-up. So far my shopping list is:
1.) Sonex wheel cleaner
2.) Wheel brushes
3.) Tire dressing - I used to use the silicone variety, but would like to transition to a water-based product. I think I like the Poorboy's stuff so far.
4.) Two new buckets with Grit Guards
5.) New MF towels with some dedicated wheel towels
6.) Power-orbital buffer
7.) New polish and wax
8.) Masking tapes
9.) Good wash
10.) Some waterless product
11.) Power dryer/vac?
I was originally thinking about a power-washer, but have changed my mind on that.

Oh, by the way, my avatar is a pic of my 4 year-old daughter washing her Cozy Coupe while I wash the GT-R!

Welcome!
Lots of good people here to help you get your list together. Collectively there are enough people here who have tried anything your looking for.
