New guy from Tampa needs some advice

Hi all. I have been following the website for a while now. I puchased a black Chrysler 300c in July. I made sure the dealer didn't touch the paint. From reading the advice on this great forum and Autopia, I puchased AIO & SG, MF towels & applicators, Menzerna car wash, sheep skin mitt and clay kit. I had a clear bra put on it too.

Since then, I clayed then put AIO + 5x SG + 2x UPP, all by hand. The first 3 coats of SG one week apart, then 1 coat per month for two months, then I put the 2 coats of UPP 24 hrs apart last week. I just purchased the a 7336PC at Lowes about an hour ago. I'm getting ready to order the Edge 2000 Pad kit, SSR1 & 2.5 from PAC. Now for my questions.

Any recommendations of something to add to my list if I want to strip the paint of sealant or will AIO on the PC be able to do it?

If I want to buff out any swirls and polish the paint, do I use the SSRs without removing the SG & UPP? Apply AIO first? Get something else to remove the sealants?

Here are some pics I took of the car back in August with 2 coats of SG

I love this site and thanks for all the great advice.

Your polishing (SSR's & AIO) should remove your previous sealant.

That line on your hood in the last pic...is that the clear bra? I was thinking about getting one of those, but I wound up not doing it. How do you like it?

Nice looking car :)

Yes, the line on the hood is the clear bra. I've been happy with it so far. Definitely keeps the rocks and love bugs from damaging the paint. It's more noticable in that shot than in person. Hopefully it will hold up over time. I had the installer put it on the headlights and fog lights too.

Dwayne, I'm actually in Palm Harbor, but people are more familiar with Tampa. Do you ship on Saturdays, or if I put it an order today will it go out Monday? Thanks for the quick replies. I think I'll go ahead with the order as is.

Edit: Just read on the website that PAC does not ship on Saturdays.

Hello: Car looks great. Only problem I can see is the bra. It could cause you problems down the road. It will mar your paint in time. Just like a vinyl felt backed bra will do. I would think about it. I guess it's a trade off.

I don't understand how the clear bra will mar paint. It is affixed to the paint via adhesive. it doesn't move around like the vinyl bras. Could you please explain your method of thinking on that?? Thanks.

A clear bra will not mar the paint. I'm not sure where you got that idea from. I just make sure I keep a sealant with UV protection on the car so there are no fading issues with the paint.
