Learning to Detail
Hi Everyone,

I'm so new in this forum and even total new for detailing job. I have 2 cars(honda civic 00, accord 99) and 4runner. I haven't done any poshing, waxing or even washing correctly. I have recently made a mistake for using dawn to wash my brand new 04 Runner 3 times. After reading about detailing, I realized I have just accidently remove the wax. I don't know how much I damage the wax. Anyway, I know now...maybe it's too late to blame myself. I start buying the right products from now on.

This is the list of products I have bought so far:

Meg' NXT Car Wash
NXT Tech Wax
NXT Tech Spray
Deep Crystal System Polish
Quick Detail
Clay Bar
ScratchX
Cleaner Wax

Mircofiber Towels from costco (Not the best but alright I think)
Wash mitt
application pads
PC 7336SP from Lowe's (so look like I have to buy the backing plate, polishing and waxing pads.)

am I missing anything? let's me know. any advices would be greatly appreciated.

When should I start claying/polishing/wax my 3 month old 4Runner?

I will start reading your guys threads...It's great to have a forum reserved for detailing like this...very glad I found it. Thanks again.

welcome fellow NoVA ! you'll love the pc, I just got one, tomorrow should be good day weather to detail in. try 2 buckets. one with car wash soap, one clean water rinse. wash part of car then rinse the grime in water bucket then get more out of soapy bucket. this tip was explained here on this dc website an really seems to work well.

Thanks for the warm welcome from you guys...

Is the following picture which includes in the PC 7336 from Lowe's a sanding pad? It is not the velcro backing plate right?

Thanks!
