Hey im new here, I drive a lifted f250 and want a project subaru to play around in. I searched "how to detail a car" but I could not find any step by step instructions, just trying to learn more about detailing, can any of you guys help?

Thanks, Jared

I have the original Porter Cable and Flex 3411. both are machines used on the car.

Product wise - HD CAR Care, Pinnacle, Optimum, Meguairs, P21, Mezerna, Collinite - complete line of all of those (except Megs).

Another Houstonian?!?!? LOL thats good, Houston needs more people that understand detailing.

Theres a TON of info on this board, at first it will seem overwhelming but you'll catch on. Just read a lot and ask questions. First use the search, there are a lot of people that will....remind you I guess is a nice way of saying it. hahaha Welcome

Welcome to autopia. I have a few(edit: A LOT of) products that I can't really use because I live in a stupid apartment. But I'd be glad to help out.

I mostly have paint care products and a meguiars DA polisher.

So pm me if you need some stuff or some help on a weekend.

Maybe the Houston folks should have a get together. We can all bring various products for others to try - show technique, etc.

Anyone interested?

Yea, this is a great idea. We need to all get together and come up with a way to put all the myths to rest around here. If you look at the Houston's Craigslist, it's become a joke as far as detailing is concerned. Welcome to the site. Anyway's , I just had to get that off my chest. I don't usually let inferior detailers bother me, but some of the postings on the Houston CL lately have me worried about what the car owners will think of the detailing industry around here. I realize all of these guys will be weeded out either by pricing themselves out of the business or bad work. Sorry for ranting and going of on a tangent. Yea, the SEARCH button is a great tool, use it a lot.
