Chadwick's Auto Detailing
What brand of auto wash do you guys use on a car that needs to be washed with a strong soap that will remove wax, tar, sap and other foreign stuff before claying. I'm not comfortable using dish washing detergent. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would suggest using a paint cleaner to remove wax and bug & tar remover to remove some the other stuff.

I just did a car covered in sap andtons of it. I used Dawn to get it off, something I do very rarely. If your going to clay, polish then wax why not?

The only reason I don't want to use dawn is it's oil removal. It's my understanding that paint is not ever really dry untill it starts to oxidize. Using dawn helps speed up the oxidation process by removing oils out of your finish.

Once is not going to hurt that car, weekly that's another concern. Again your going to reportect the car right after.

If you still don't want to clay, then a DACP will do the job

Oh sorry, I am claying the car, I should have said "prior to claying". I've been using Eiman Fabrik's Power Wash. It works well but a little pricey.

You're probably right. Using Dawn a couple of times per year won't hurt anything.

I appreciate your help!

I used a cheap turtle wax wash before its all gone now I been using Rain-X citrus type wash its gone now to. On my next order from Dwayne im going to get 4-Star car wash. Tell you how it is then.

thats correct but if you use a glaze to put the essential oils back into the paint i dont see where the problem is. I have also heard that using dawn will damage the paint because it has powerful grease cutting agents in it. Which I find this to be true but then comes the point that was made by only using it at the begging of a new wax or polish job, say one every 6 months or one every year.

I believe your looking for a car wash soap that doesn't exist to remove all said above, especially sap. Now i may be wrong but I haven't found a soap to remove all of it just by washing. If I am wrong I would also like to know what removes all that without claying, or doing something else besides washing... best of luck!
