New compressor is up and running!

Got the big Puma in place today, ran the 220v from the box to it, and fired it up.

At last, there is enough CFM and line pressure to run the blast cabinet, air tools, etc without having a big drop off and inability to quickly complete whatever job I am on.

The little 21 gal, 110v with 4.5 CFM and 115 pressure was fine for small stuff, but I needed more and I got it.

Puma is a great, USA made unit and with a belt drive is much quieter than the little one.

I highly recommend this unit for most who have air tools, do body work, etc.

pix or it doesn't exist!!! Having anything on 110 and trying to spray is nearly impossible.

Don't do "pic's". takes too much of my retirement time.

Just use your imagination, it's big, it's got all I need or will.

They got a website, and I live 35 miles north of Quincy, Ill. where a well known compressor company is, Quincy Compressors.

The one I got, made in Memphis, Tn. was half the price at Farm and Home Supply.

The little one was fine for painting most of what I shoot, vintage motor cycle parts, etc.

I don't do completes of vehicles here at Grumpy's Garage, got a friend of some 50 years who has a bodyshop, with a three year old down draft.

He rents it to me for $20 an hour when I need it, which is not often.

I do the prep, masking, etc here, then trailer it over to Lem's shop and finish it up.

Have lots of fun with the new toy, Ron! :xyxthumbs

I'm going to check out Farm and Home Supply. I love places/sites like that.

Grumpy's Garage-- sounds like it could be an adversary to Griot's Garage! :chuckle: if you don't have already, you just gotta hang a sign that says that in there!

Naw, got a sign I made, hand lettered it to look like something out of the 40's over the big door, and when one looks to their left, there is the patio, with the door into the party room, which has a similar sign that says "Grumpy's Pub".

I get more people coming to me in search of things that they can't find anyone else to do, than I can handle.

Don't recall if I put up those on my FaceBook page or not.

Know the old bike is there, and some other things, guess I need to add some to that.

Got some T-shirts coming that have the Grumpy's Garage on them, just to give to friends around here.

Would love to see some shots of that thing in action in Grumpy's Garage some time. Did see the other Facebook pics though.

Nope, since the floor is pavers, built an oak pallet for it, bolted to it.

That way, since I have a small shop can move it if necessary, left an additional 10 feet of the 10-2 grounded wire to make that possible.

It doesn't move, and having it on the oak pallet is quiet.

Man, does this compressor make a difference, much quieter, and just did some parts in the blast cabinet, took 1/3 the time as the little 110v unit.

I hear ya, there are so many pics I don't post. If you have a smartphone, tapatalk makes it so easy though, 3 clicks and you have a photo up here.

I agree, we need pics. I can load images pretty quick now. Which is why I throw so many at you guys. C'mon Ketch, you can do it too!!!!

Maybe in a few days.

Just remeber, Grumpy's is a "working garage", I can't even get a car completely in it.

But I have other facilities for that.

Grumpy

I bet that sucka a bronzer. Nothing like having an endless supply of air in a shop. How are the air lines configured to the work spaces?

Put me down for a Grumpy's Garage T-Shirt!!

I made three try's at getting some photos up for this site.

After about an hour, sent the photo's to Bill D, and asked him to put them up.

Like I said in an earlier post, "it ain't a show place, it's a "working shop" sort of place.

Only 20' by 20', not a lot of room, but it gets it done.

Used the pavers since around this area, the clay is tough on concrete, all my neighbor's with concrete floors have huge cracks in them, even with 8" to 10" and lots of rebar.

Pavers let things float when the dreaded frost heave hits here.

Plus, slanted them so if water comes in, it flows to the outside edges and down under the footings, so no standing water, etc.

Bill will get some up sometime, at least he is nice enough to do it, so thank him when they get posted.

Grumpy

Oh, I didn't realize you wanted me to post them for you. Sure, let me add them to my Photobucket. I'll have them up in a little bit.......

Thanks, Bill.

I would appreciate your doing so, since some asked to see some of Grumpy's Garage.

Like I posted, "it ain't pretty, but it is a working shop", one that I can do both metal and wood work in, so it works for me.

If I had my way, it would be 40' by 60's, with lifts, etc, but then I would have to have not only enough money to build and outfit it, but hire a janitor!!!

LOL!

Okay Ketch, here they are. Cool toys!! David, if you'd like to do that/ mod things to fit better, please go ahead.
