New Combo on my Camaro

I tried something a little new today.

First, I washed the wheels and tires with Duragloss 901 car wash, a Eurow sheepskin mitt, and Griot's tire brush. Then, I moved to the paint, which was washed with Griot's Car Wash and a Eurow sheepskin mitt. Once thoroughly washed, I pulled it in the garage and dried completely with a waffle weave.

From there, I added some Red Moose Machine Glaze to the last of my Vanilla Moose and polished the paint using a Lake Country polishing pad via PC on speed 5. The next step is where I tried something a little different - I spritzed Optimum Car Wax over each panel and instead of buffing, I used it as the "spit" and applied Pinnacle Souveran on top using a Zaino cotton applicator. I made my way around the whole car using this method, and then I used Duragloss Aqua Wax like a QD to remove the wax residue. I finished it up by dressing the wells with Armor All and the tires with Zaino Z16 Tire Dressing and an Eagle One Tire Swipe.

The result was a deep, wet finish. I'm not sure it's a drastic improvement over the RMG/Souveran combo, but it was fun to try something different. Who knows?...the look may improve overnight or the next couple of days.

Anyway, here are some direct sun pictures:

Looks Killer! Wonder how much if any this combo would last? No that it really matters since you like the RMG/souveran you had on before.

I've been waiting Zane...it looks great but I don't know how much better than the regular RMG/Souveran combo. Have you done the traditional spitshine with Souveran before?

Zane, you are the man !!!!

That is the cleanest 93 anywhere :2thumbs:

thanks to your post with that swirled z06 a couple years ago, i am at the detailing status i am.

PC and the whole world of detailing products

Dude, your car just radiant. Absolutely stunning. The contrast between the bright red and dark black (including the tires) is awesome.

How did you like using the AW when removing the PS? I've quit using the W-O-W-O method with PS (now I let it set up) but I've never tried adding something when buffing it off.

Oh, and it's nice to see I'm not the only guy using Griot's Car Wash and BHB for wheels ;)

Thanks :)

Using AW to remove the PS allowed slightly easier removal and kicked up the gloss just a touch. More times than not, I use a QD during removal of my wax/sealant - just something I've become accustomed to I suppose.

I don't have any BHBs yet, but I do enjoy using the Griot's wash.

103k original miles. It was mostly repainted about 6 years ago at 50k miles due to some severe hail damage.

Ah, my bad, I misread "tire brush" as "wheel brush" :o FWIW, I really do like the BHB approach for wheels, especially the way the BHBs rinse so clean.

Gotcha on the QD/LSP removal, I'll have to give that a try.

Looks great.

Don't often hear about a polymer spray (DG AW) on top of a carnuba wax (Pinnacle Souveran).

I wonder about durability?
