New Challenger R/T: Wax Over Decals?

I have a friend with a new Challenger he wants me to throw a quick polish on this weekend. Not sure what to do about the decals. I assume you don't polish over them? Do they need taped off like trim or just be careful around them? I plan on throwing some Zaino on after I am done, do I wax over them like paint? I have assumptions but I wanna verify.

Thanks!!!

Be extra careful with decals. Apply tape over them when polishing to be safe and avoid contact with a buffer. Most waxes will not hurt them, but they really don't protect like it does on paint. I would just use a quick detailer on them after polishing and waxing the car.

I have found that over time wax gets underneath the edges of stickers and causes them to start lifting a bit. I try to stay away from them.

I have a 2010 Challenger R/T with the same Brilliant Black paint and silver hood to fender R/T stripes. The decals are pretty resilient. The one issue I would be concerned with is the finish. Some products will impart their own sheen that may not appeal to your friend. You may want to stick with a QD as mentioned. Personally, I typically just use some Opti-Seal on mine which has proven to be "all over" friendly IME.

One of the reasons I like UPGP so much. No buildup or white stains. I certainly understand that you might be seeking the look a wax provides, but if not, a good sealant might be the answer.
