I recently got my 07 camry about 2-3 months ago. Should i finally do a full detail or is it too early in the game. Should i wait a few more months so i can let the paint cure. I am about to just wash it using the two bucket method, and I am thinking about applying some p21s wax. Good idea?

Should i just wash, clay the car, compound, polish, seal it, then wax it?

The paint should be ready for whatever you feel the need to do with it. It's just a question of washing, and claying, then a very close inspection to see what marring needs to be taken care of. Then, on to whatever you planned on using to make it look good.

I would clay it for sure. Then depending upon the condition of the paint, it shouldn't be bad, just give it a light polish and wax. Or just a clay, glaze and wax. Good luck on your purchase!

From what I see my car does not have many swirls in it. Should i just polish the car using Optimum Polish with the Edge White polishing pad?

If you dont see swirls dont polish it. Try a cleaner like Klasse AIO, or try Optimum Poli Seal and do a light polish and sealant application with one product :)

As mentioned before, I would claybar and use a chemical polish or a light abrassive polish since you have minor swirls. Optimum Polish and a white pad will be fine.

Before you clay, first make sure it even needs it. I bought a new car last year and it certainly didn't need it, nor did it need any polishing. I know most car dealers tend to be hacks when it comes to car prep, but not all are. My car had some polish residue in some hard to reach areas, but it was quite obvious the prep work was done by someone who knew what they were doing. The car was flawless except for one minor fine scratch on the driver's side C pillar which I was able to quickly polish out.

Just do a good wash and take the time to do a careful inventory on what you think the car needs and go from there. Feel some rail dust or grabbing on the paint.....clay it.....see some spider webbing....hit it with a light polish.

Claying or polishing would have been a complete waste of time for me......I simply used some AIO and went straight to my LSP.

Sounds good. Just make sure you allow time for the SG to cure before waxing it. You'll probably need to do a QD wipedown before waxing.

on my camry metallic blue the combo I finally decided on it

1 wash

2 clay

3 polish if needed

4 fk 215 AIO

5 FK 2180 poly sealant

6 fk 1000P high temp wax

I waited 9 months before doing a full detail on my new car, but I wish I would have done it sooner. I also will never let the dealer wash a new car again!

Yeah now im just thinking about

1)washing it

2)claying it

3)Klasse AIO

4)Klasse SG

5)P21s wax

And there you have it. I would QD mist and wipe after the claying as well.

When I got my 06 WRX, I washed and clayed it the next day. You don't have to wait.

lately i have been claying a panel right after i wash and rinse it then then soap it again then clay do another quick wash then rinse then move on to the next panel
