New Car Wax

Rubicon1

Hey guys, just found this website. A quick question...I just bought an 07' Rubicon. I park my Jeep at work, which is the worst possible environment, a Railroad Yard. What sealant, wax, process, etc. would you guys recommend performing on a new car parked in these conditions?

First things first, you must clay it to get all the foreign particles out of the paint. Then I like Klasse AIO followed by Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant and topped by FK's Pink Wax. If you need to polish before the AIO, then I like Menzena Super Intensive Polish. Good luck!

Yeah, that was I was thinking. Just trying to figure out the best brands/products b/c there are sooooo many choices and options these days.

Welcome to DC :howdy:howdy ...there are many choices, you will probably want to try a few different products and find which ever is best for you :)

Welcome to the site...to start you do work in an area that will require a bit more work to maintain the finish than in non-industrial areas...that meaning washing more regularly, polishing, waxing, etc.....All that said what has been suggested about clay is a great start...the key is to recognize when its time to do it next, I would use the plastic baggie trick...once a month after washing the rig..take a plastic sandwich bag over your hand palm side down run that gently over the surface and if you feel that its catching of rough then a paint cleaner or another clay might be in order...if I was in your position I would start working with a chemical based polish like PB pro-polish, or any paint cleaner on a regular bases, it will stay on top of the fallout, between clay steps, which I would guess might be about every 3 months....after the paint cleaner...any sealant and wax combo would be a good choice.

One other area to read up about fallout is FK1 finish kare...link is attached...read up about their decontamination system

just like the other person said, there are many good products out there. ive personally used meguiars, poorboys, fourstar, and klasse products and they all yield superb results.

when you wash your car make sure to use the two bucket method. one bucket for soap/water, and the other bucket for rinsing.

ive used both the wolfgang and fourstar clay and both of them i have to say are really good and you cant go wrong with either one of them.
