New Car To The Fleet

So, on our move back to PA from MS the Equinox decided it wanted to pop its intake gasket which in turn later needed a head gasket with it even though it never overheated. Same time everything else was going wrong with it, so it was time to part ways as repairs would have cost more than it was worth. We went to a bunch of different brands test driving and seeing what we liked. Decided to go back to Toyota, they had an early 2015 model that they were itching to get rid of. It's nice going with a brand new car. We were never able to buy a new car in Mississippi because the tag and registration runs $800-$1200 on a new car, yearly. Here in PA, $36...

Two great cars. That neighborhood looks nice and serene too.

The cost of tags in Mississippi must be a huge deterrant to buying new cars. Stupid.

Yea, surprisingly the Jetta has been a great car as well, it only has 64K, so it's not even broken in yet. Unfortunately I haven't been home much to enjoy either vehicles; work had my in Syracuse, NY and Allentown, PA. Last week we were in Altoona.

As far as the neighborhood, I love it. It's actually 4 houses down from where I grew up. This is the view off my porch, not much to some, but I love it.

Thanks guys, been 8 long years, glad to be back! I'm also fortunate my job takes me all over the state; roundabout way I'm getting paid to see the state.

I was able to buy the house I grew up in, kinda cool actually. And I really like the view from your porch, there's just something about gazing over farmland that's so peaceful.

BTW, you either need to get a bagging lawn mower or a rake :lol2:

Hah, yea about that. There was a mulching self propelled mower that the previous tenants left behind. It was well worn, but after $15 in parts, it ran. They left the air filter off for who knows long too. After the first start and it got warm there was an apparent rod knock. Couple weeks ago it lost alot of power and looked like I was fogging for mosquitoes. Been borrowing a friends cheapie for a while. I plan on buying a house in a years time, so I wait till then to buy a nice older one. Might even try and get one of my grandparents Cub Cadets that have been around since the 60's.
