Hey Guys

My Mum is ordering a new Honda Accord Euro which in america is known as Acura TSX.

She wanted black but I said hell no and said silver. After huge dispute I finally won she said tommorow she is going to order it in silver.

The dealership doesn't have it in stock so it will be orderd in. Now this is where I need your help. I also told my mum to tell them to do no dealer prep on the car and leave it how it is except for number plates.

So now if I don't want dealer prep, exactly what will I need to do to this new car. It's silver ofcourse and going to be orderd in, it's also luxury model over here so has the leather interior.

I have a rough idea on what to do and wondering if you can make any suggestions.

Wash

Clay

Light Polish (Still not shore which one to choose from)

Glaze

Paste Wax

Here are pictures of my collection of stuff I have. Also I have porter cable 7424 and 6 of each of ccs yellow, orange, white, gray.

Slobu, you ever had a black Honda? Sounds to me that he will be caring for the car and caring for a black Honda is a LOT of work. I say good thing he talked her into silver.:D

Choosing from what you have on hand, I'd go with: Wash, clay, OP and DG 111.

I have a silver TSX as my DD and be THANKFUL you will be maintaining a silver Honda. I've dealt with black cars and I probably won't ever own one because of maintenance' sake. (A lot of this REALLY depends how anal you are about the care of black paint) The silver will be a pleasure to deal with but if it's a daily driver, I "might" skip the glaze. With silver, I find that it does not add that much effect.. another layer of protection, yes, but looks wise, the glaze on a silver vehicle "may" not be necessary.

Good luck,

Mike

So with optimum polish should I use white polish pad or gray.

Oh yeah my sister has a black mitsubishi lancer and my dad has a dark blue mercedes and if I have to maintain one more dark color car then it's going to kill me.

I wash and maintain 2 dark colored cars already each week, adding a third is just going to kill me and waste so much of my time trying to keep it as perfect as can be.

Also it's going to be a daily driver so why on earth would I pick the one color which apears dirty after just one day after washing and trying to advoid all the swirls and scratches is a whole other story.

+1 I put glaze on my silver Infiniti I30 and it didn't really do much of anything.

I think glaze can also hurt the durability of your LSP. Does anyone think Optimum poliseal would be strong enough for a new car or is the OP necessary?

I kind of like polish/glaze mixes for finishing on Hondas - 1Z MP is great, as is P0106FF mixed with EZ Creme.

Poli-Seal is great for new cars - clay, PS with a white pad, and OS or OCW to your heart's content.

If you have a silver car and traditional glazes don't add much - EZ Creme is worth the price of admittance. I use EZ creme on 80+% of the cars I detail - it bonds well (acrylic) and adds a ton of depth. Filling is mediocre at best.
