NEW CAR! BMW X5 4.8is (loaded with pics)

There is no cure!
I got a new car!

Now before you question yourself, yes, I did just recently get a hold of the new 2006 bmw 330i in July, but after evaluating what would be more practical, spending 7k on wheels and tires, or getting a new car, obviously the new car became more practical.

My new car is a 2006 BMW X5 4.8is. Its even faster than my 330i on a drag. And for it being an SUV or SAV as BMW likes to call it, it handles awesome. This car comes standard with practically every single option, and makes a throaty grunt as it passes many.

Im soo excited, and even more happier that I stayed in the BMW family. I dont think I will ever chnage brands.

2004 Mini Cooper
2006 330i
2006 X5 4.8is.

Now I know why its called 4.8is. Its engine is friggin massive. With 315 size tires in the back and 20 inch wheels, its a huge upgrade for me and my wallet.

The car was the only 4.8is at the dealer, so it was their showcase model. Only had 8 miles on the odometer. I guess no one test drove it. I picked it up last sunday.

Only mod done were tints.

Very nice choice. Beautiful car and love the colour. We chose the 2006 ML over the X5 just picked it up last week.

ENJOY......The x5 is one of the nicest suv's you can buy....and with a V8 Shiet, your set.....the x5 handles like a car its an amazing vehicle.....i sell high end used cars and the BMW'S are buy far the nicest cars you can buy......i tell customers if you buy a bmw your not going to be able to buy a better driving car mercedes, audi, volvo, lexus, acura, saab cant touch bmw......
and iam sure you will be keepin that beast crystal clean to
sweet vehicle

WOW!!

Nice looking vehicle! Are the seats as soft as they look? It would seem that one would melt into a seat such as these?

Now keep posting great pictures for a while so we can watch it age beautifully as you detail it!!!

Yes they are. They're call Nappa Leather, w/e that means, but it obviously isnt the same leather in my '06 330i, those felt much firmer. These plus side bolsters, and heated seats will definaltey get you to melt

Very nice new vehicle you have there. Make sure you take good care of her!

While it's a nice vehicle, I wouldn't necessarily go that far. BMW is definately in the upper echelon of mid priced vehicles, but there are many brands as good and better than them too.

You can pickup some serious hotties with that whip!:dnaughty :dnaughty :dnaughty :dnaughty :dnaughty

I had a 4.4i a few years back. The car was unreal. Its like a sports car with luggage space.
I moved to a Cayenne S, very similar in ride and performance. I am sure the 4.8i blows my truck away.

The word spoiled come to mind for me....the next word that comes to mind is jealous....great ride JOY we are looking at the x series right now but haven't decided on that or the MB SUV's

Thats a really really nice car, i relly like the X5, good choice. The gusy at the dealership must think your nuts buying all those new bmw's lol. But its a very nice car i have a feeling you will really enjoy it

I still don't understand how a new X5 is more pratical than putting new rims on your 330i? Did your 3 series need new wheels, or did you just want something aftermarket? I'm not on this forum as much as I use to so maybe I missed something? I also don't understand why you would get rid of such a nice, new 3 series, for the truck. Don't get me wrong, its a very nice truck, but unless you need the 4wd (which I doubt in Miami), or really need the cargo space, I can't understand why you'd pick a suv over a sedan; especially a very very nice sedan.

Well to each their own, I wish you good luck with it; it is a nice looking truck complimented by a nice detail. :)

BMW seriously needs to rethink their interior design. Feel lucky that you don't have my 100 mile/day commute... I can't imagine dealing with 16mpg again. How I managed it in college with my POS Formula Firebird, I have no idea :)

But anyway, I'm with the guy above... I don't quite see how new rims/tires get outweighed by the loss you absorbed in getting rid of a brand new car. And you can certainly get rims/tires for a 330 that'll look the business without spending 7 grand.

But it's your money (I guess) so spend it as you like. I know I did (not mine, but when it arrives the end of the month I'll post pics):
