Hi folks - will hopefully be collecting my new car in 7 weeks or so, and would like to be well prepared for the new arrival. I'm quite a fussy detailer and will spend time getting a car to look as good as possible, so I will be talking to my dealer to not have them valet the car on arrival with a view to do this myself (carefully!).
I have a few questions:
Thanks for your help!!
I have a few questions:
- Car is being shipped from Japan (350Z) and I suspect that is is covered in some sort of protection which the dealer removes during the pre-delivery inspection & valet process.
Does anyone know what protection is in place? (just talking about the exteriror paintwork here).
- My assumption is that there are white plastic panel strips on the leading edges and hood etc. but is there anything else, like a heavy transport wax? If there is a wax, is this something that I can remove myself at home, using a particular product or dishwashing detergent before starting the detailing process (wash, clay, wash, polish, seal, wax)
- Clear bras - obvious choice or better to spend time filling stone chips and working with polishes to avoid potential issues with the plastic film (peeling. paint fade, water marks etc...) ?
Thanks for your help!!
