Tried of using my old business card that was VERY VERY basic and plain looking. Plus needed to get one that added my website address and new email. So this is what I have come up with for a few card.

I think this post may be a no no according to the rules in this thread http://www.autopia.org/forum/professional-detailer-general-discussion/108520-again-stop-spam.html

Just looking out so you don't get the boot ;)

I think it is, technically, but these threads pop up in the pro thread quite often with the intent of getting criticism from others in the industry, not to sell services. It makes it difficult to share design ideas, web site changes, and promotional material when we are required to modify all contact info out in order to post. It would be nice if there were a way for us pros to openly share media without fear of getting banned, but this is sort of a gray area. Just throwing that out there!

As far as the card design, I like it. I love the fade to make your info pop out more.

Yeah I have seen these before as well and just wanted the opinions if this card was a little to artisitc to the point it gets away from the business information, like I have seen others discuss before. Or is this just right where it shows off detail in the card like the business and draws people to it.

To be honest and to the point... I don't know what your old card looks like but this seems fairly plain as well. Unless your target market is only old, "chromy" classics, (<<don't mean that in a bad way at all btw) I don't see anything other than text and a pic of a car. I'd say change up some text sizes, add a bit color to the card and work with the background image. I don't have access to their cards but if you look through these guys' websites you'll kind of get the idea of the theme they have with layout, colors, etc., which I think that works very well...

I've also had a lot of compliments on my website and biz card so feel free to check that out as well.

EDIT: I just realized your old card (I assume) is in your sig... I think that has more character with the text color & sizes, but the car on that one is a bit much.

have you ever tried to contact a designer to come up with something for you? i have a guy if you need it. He designed my biz card, labels, gift boxes, etc. Pretty good for the price. and since he is in this line of work, he was able to hook me up with printing as well. (Basically he got bunch of clients together to go in with the print job to save all of us $).

My old card was like I described eariler, it was VERY plain and boring. Just white stock with 3 color lettering and a very old design I quickly made that wasnt great. I want something that is different and still to the point. I will probably look through some more pictures for maybe a different background since the current one does not look right with different color lettering on it.

I have a friend who is a graphics designer that is making my vehicle decals at the moment and my aunt has a number of connections with business card printing places. So I am getting roughly 1000 cards in say that color style thick stock with uv protection for around $40-50.

If that's a hookup for a design and 1000 cards then $40-50 isn't bad at all. If it's just cards, you might want to check this out.... Full Color Printing: Business Cards, Postcards, Flyers, Brochures, Catalogs & More! - GotPrint

I get my cards from there all the time and they do very good work.
