Just picked up a new 2007 Berlina Black s2000. Had a 2 hour drive to pick it up and they said they would get it ready to go. Me not thinking of course forgot to tell them not to wash it. Well when I got there I wasn't a happy camper. Swirl marks everywhere but I knew they could be removed. Anyways heres some pics. The car is covered in them.

I got a Cyclo on the way also. Being I never used any detailing machine before I have also have purchased a hood from the junk yard to practice on and plan on doing my winter beater/daily driver a 96 ford explorer and probably my dads expedition first.

I just wanna make sure Im on the right step with the detailing products. Ive only used the megs deep crystal product line on my 01 s2000 that I recently sold.

I plan on using the #2 followed by the #9 and then finish with the NXT.

Any suggests or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

Congrats! I bought a 2007 red s2000 in July. It was swirl city but the paint is extremely soft. I was able to get everything out with a PC and Menzerna FPII. You may be able to just use #9 to remove everything. Try a test spot first.

Also, the top is vinyl so I use 303 on it.

Brand new car, no detail machine using experience =

My suggestion would be, if you wanted to do it on your own, is to opt for a one step polish and then wax. Patience is the way to go for your first time! The "stealership" has already saddled you with swirls. Using a new machine for the very first time could add to that. Using a two step process might be more than you should try for your first time.....just my two cents worth.

yep. I bought a hood from the junk yard today. Plus Ill be doing my 96 ford explorer and possibly 2 other older cars before I touch my new one.

Thanks everyone for your input.

AT least with the cyclo there isn't a huge worry about messing up the paint, it would take blatant misuse to do that. Just be careful and go slow. Try the #9 first. You always want to start with the least aggressive compound and see how that works for you.

Marcuz19 - That is inspiring

I can't wait to get my cyclo tomorrow to start practicing.

Forget Halloween. I'm detailing :buffing:

First time using a cyclo. Very fun and easy. I just finished up on the ford explorer. The hood could of used some sanding but that will probably be my spring project. Other than that it turned out awesome. Very happy with it.

I ended up using Megs 9 and 26 and not the NXT.
