new armorall towels chime in

I was just wondering what anyone else thought of these. I picked them up at wal mart thinking well see. its a 3 pack of 2 in 1 polishing towels.

I actually really like this product though, being I have not really ever been a fan of armorall. But I think they work just as nice as my cobra micro and the two in one is pretty nice. And for around $4.88 it’s not that bad.

the AA microfibers seem a little too rough for my liking, especially the waffle weave they have. the viking microfibers are alot nicer, available otc, and are on par with the boutique offerings...

thats kinda what i thought at first but they didnt scratch my pristene Black WS6.
 
Speaking of OTC towels, Advance has Ice MFs on the clearance rack. With the $10 coupon from the Good Deals forum, their price is even lower.

Those are made by Carrand, are super fluffy (with wrapped edges) though they tend to leave a bit of MF lint for the first few uses.



IMHO they are actually too absorbant to be good with Turtle Wax ICE polishes :think:, I prefer the Autozone yellow polishing MF's for working with ice polish.
 
+1 for the viking, i have some of these but use them for grunge work now, and why are u talking about ICE again goudy? do they pay you?
 
I worry about how much die are in these Armor All towels and others for that matter. I left my Armor All MF wash sponge leaning against another natural sponge and was amazed at how much of that orange die transferred. Can't be a good thing.



Not picking on Armor All. Seems like lots of different brands/types use their own dies and lots of it.

That makes sense, as Advance also had Carrand MFs on sale. The same ones sold by some of the online stores. Their edging was somewhat distinctive and identical to the Ice MFs.

I'm not sure that's much of a concern in these parts. ;)

What happens is that someone either pays various companies for licensing their brands, or the companies go out and see someone to manage thier accessories programs. Unlike the wax, none of this stuff is made in house, so really brand names are just codewords for various things supplied by the same people.



Carrand probably goes out to some big factory in China, and says make me 100,000 of Model X in grey and blue, and 32,000 in red and orange, etc.
