New 2007 Audi A4 Convertible

Just got a 2007 Audi A4 Convertible Moro blue. Dealer "prep" left a lot of swirls that I now have to get rid of. The dealer uses First Place Finish and even has for $675.00 a guarentee that if your car gets dinged they will fix it or pay to repaint the car. If the swirls are a First Place Finish I would hate to see what is called a 2nd or 3rd lol. Granted I didn't get the $675.00 guarantee. I used Groits on my last car as when I got it, it didn't have a lot of swirls and Groit's polishes worked fine. Groit's polishes are mild polishes and for this car I need something "stronger". I'm going to go with the following:

1. Blackfire SCR with an orange pad.

2. Mernenza Final Polish with white pad.

3. Mernenza SMJ with a red pad.

What do yall think?

congrats on the car.

As for polsihes, you have a few options. I asume you are going to be using a pc or somesort of buffing tool, in this case iwould either recomned the optimun line, the compounds are top notch, they break down quickly, and leave little to no dusting. They make life easy. Also you could use the xmt line. I know alot of people here use xmt, its relitivly inexpensive and will work well, the only thing i dont like about it is that it seams to dust a little

laslty i have heard awsoe things on the dp line, i am lookin gat there swirl removermes myself. I have heard they break down very esily (5 minutes of polsihing should do it) and leave no dusr at all. I havent tried them but im sure a quick search could help you out.

Congrats on the car and good luck

What about those of us who are new to a PC and don't want to practice on a new car?

It's hard to cause damage with a PC! I also was looking for test panels when I first got my PC, but I took the plunge and went for it. Great results, never looked back.

Now, a rotary is a different story! Better get some test panels with that...
