Never Saw Anything Like This

Got a call from a customer, that admitted he had called others before me, wanting to know how much to detail a 1988 Crown Vic that only had 24k miles on it. I kind of smelled a rat and kept asking questions. Bottom line is, this old retired man bought the car from the family of a woman that had died. She bought the car brand new and never parked it anywhere but OUTside. Never saw a garage. Now to put this in perspective, the car spent it's entire life in the Piney Woods of East Texas. I told the guy, without seeing the car, it would likely run $165 with just minor interior work. So he brings the car over and I couldn't believe what I saw! He had tried to wash it with Soft Scrub! I'm telling you, the finish on the car felt like sandpaper, and not fine grit at that. I accepted the car as a challenge and told my wife, "if I can make this car look like anything, I want my own TV show on the Discover Channel." I wish I was smart enough to know how to post the pictures, but believe me, it turned out pretty good. The old man almost pissed himself. Called his brother to tell him he was coming over and he wasn't going to believe what he was going to show him. Even gave me $200 for my efforts. Made an old man happy this weekend. :dance

A different forum, yes, but the procedure is the same.

Good Luck!
