Need someone to detail 2 vehicles for me in the Temecula area

Hey all,

As my name implies, I am no pro. :D There was a day when I used to do all my stuff with Zaino. In fact, I have some old-school bottles from back when they used to print out the instructions and tape them to the bottle. :D

Anyway, I just bought my wife a used all-silver 2001 RX300 with black leather. The entire vehicle is in awesome condition, but it needs a lot of little things, like the leather conditioned and the dash/storage bins cleaned up. The paint is in fantastic condition, but I would like it clayed and waxed/Zaino'd to really get the most out of it. It has a few door chips (only in the front?) and 2 scratches that I could find. The touch-up was done by a real n00b and looks horrible, so I'll likely get the doors repainted at some point. I'm looking for someone to get it back into pristine condition.

The second vehicle is one we are getting ready to sell. It is a silver 2005 Mazda 3 and also has black leather. It only has 21,000 miles on it, and it is also in awesome condition. There is one tiny dent in the low passenger side door from me opening it when it was on a car trailer (doh), but otherwise the paint is immaculate. I just want to get it as perfect as possible before selling it. It has always gone through hand car washes, and I took it again since she started driving the RX, so it has been vacuumed and cleaned well already once. I just need it taken the rest of the way. :D

I also have a 2004 F150 that I may have someone work on, but I have done the Zaino thing on it so it still looks pretty good. My first priorities are to my wife's vehicle and the one we will be selling.

We are in a brand new neighborhood about a 20 minute drive from central Temecula. If you think you can provide what we are looking for, please post here. I'm looking for this to happen as soon as possible, and if I don't hear anything in the next few days I will resort to bringing it to the local hand wash. Please quote for both vehicles. :)

Thanks for reading,

Tim

Temecula is a fair drive for me. But I sent you a PM anyway. I would hate to see the local car wash hack up that nice paint!

Temecula is a bit out of range for me. But I'd hate to see you take it to the local hand wash (which one do you go to...I'm fairly familiar with all the washes in the Temecula area)? Anyways, I think you'd be a lot better off to call some mobile detailers and ask some specific questions in an attempt to find a good one...you could ask what products he/she uses, what process he/she uses for buffing, etc.

Hey all,

Let me clarify some things that I have gotten a few PMs on.

I have a house with a garage you can work in, but there is a boat and quad/dirtbike in the way we'd have to move so you could spread out. I also have a 10x10 EZ-up you are welcome to use if you'd like the driveway. It's the true 10x10 one and will easily cover half of the entire vehicle. We have a 50' hose right next to the driveway. The house faces west, so an early riser would likely have shade the first few hours of work.

If you don't mind where you do the work and you are truly mobile, I can get either vehicle to Corona or Riverside if that would help someone. It would be at a retail location though, so you'd be working in a parking lot during the day. No water hookups, etc. Closer to OC though. :)

I only mentioned Zaino because I have used it for years. I am open to any and all detailing methods you wish to use as long as you know what you are doing. :D

On the Lexus I'm looking for the full monte. I keep finding more and more clearcoat scratches in it, but there are still only 2 deep ones as far as I can tell. The interior definitely needs some love, though. It's not like it is bad, but it has an "old car" stale smell that comes from needing a shampoo and the leather done. Click here for pics of an identical vehicle.

On the Mazda I've decided to just get a mini for it. It primarily needs the interior done to improve the resale value. It really doesn't even need a shampoo, just a good vacuuming and interior dressing. It could use a claying, but since I'm not keeping it I really don't see the need. The paint is in excellent shape.

RAG: I have been going to Rancho Car wash off Jefferson and Winchester. They seem to do a decent job for the price. However, I was told that the detailing work at Cal Oaks is a lot better, so I may end up there if I can't get someone to come out. I have their full price list and they seem more on par with pro detailers, so I am optimistic.

Thanks for reading,

Tim

Tha't kinda funny Jason - I did not see your post (almost same time) before I posted mine...we are on the same page for sure...stay clear from the car wash detailers if at all possible. The reason I'm so knowledgable about car washes in general and at Temecula is that I intend to open one (a good one of course), and I initially wanted to do so in Temecula (but it's impacted and getting worse).

No Pro...I'd say you have some good options, do your homework and it should work out great for you.

You might want to read up on the rules again. By the way, complete sentences with puncuation go a long way!
