Need some tint opinions

I was wondering if people could share their photos of their window tinting...I'm going this week to get my car done (white) and can't decide whether I want to go limo in the back and then like 15% in the front windows or just do like 15 or 20% all the way around. So if you could please post pics of your car with the percentage and/or your opinions it would be much appreciated!

Thanks guys

Just had mine doe last week. I got 35% on the front doors, 20% on everything else. I know it's not the darkest, but it's plenty dark for me.

I've got 20 on the rear and 30 on the front doors. I had 20/40 on my previous car and didn't care for it. Only pic I've got makes it look darker than it really is...

Thanks for the pictures so far guys - I had 5% on the rear and 15% on the front for my last car. So far I am leaning towards 15% all the way around. Keep the pics/opinions coming!

If tint laws are of no concern in your area....I'd say get the same thing all around as mentioned. Gives it's a cleaner/ more uniform look. :xyxthumbs

I agree to keep the tint % uniform throughout. However, w/ that said, I dont like how "limo" tint looks. I think lighter tint looks much nicer

go 20% all around, thats pretty dark .

when you go darker than that it gets very hard to see out at night. also, when you see a cop on the road just roll down your windows a bit so you dot get busted. the cops around here tend to stay away from reg cars with tint , they like to go after the rimmed up cars with the bright lights and decals all over them..

Here's 20% on mine:

Check your local laws. Going much darker than law might cost you. I wouldn't get 5% on back. You'll have a real hard time seeing out it at night (while backing out of a parking space, etc.) 20% is a good number. It's nice and dark, but not too dark to attract attention.

Thanks for the continued replies everyone. I have an appointment to have my windows done on Friday afternoon. I'm either going to go with 15 or 20% all around. I will have to see when I get there how big of a difference it is.

On my other car I had 5% and 15% but there was little difference between the two. The front windows were just a hint lighter so I may decide to go with 20% all around. Basically regarding the law it all depends on luck. When I first got my windows done the first like 4 months I was pulled over 3 times for them. Since then (1 1/2 years) I never got heckled on them again. But, that isn't to say they don't care because I hear plenty of stories of people being pulled over, it's just a matter of what kinda mood the cops are in because I would pass them all the time windows rolled up 5% window tint and they wouldn't even care. I will update this thread Friday when I get home with pics and percentage :)

^ You're lucky. Some states will actually make you remove it. This happened to me when I lived in WI. They gave me a warning, but I had to remove it, and drive to the cop station to have it inspected/signed. Of course this was back when they didn't allow any tint on the front windows.

If you have a light colored interior and or sun roof you can theoretically get darker tint w/o it being as obvious to law enforcement. The sun roof will illuminate the interior when needed. This is especaily true with beige interior. Just open the sunroof when law enforcement is around.

FYI Joshua, I looked up the tint law recently because I was considering adding it. Michigan law states no limit in % for rear and rear side windows, but it only allows tint on the top 4 inches of the front side windows.

I love my 20% all around on my G. I think it's a perfect balance of being dark enough and not too dark. I use 3M ColorStable tint.

Hey guys..it has been a long time since I got my windows tinted last.

It is normal for the windows too look a little funny the first couple days while the tint settles right?

What do you mean like a slight hazyness or *very* few bubbles? Thats what I had and once it settled it was darn near perfect on the front two.
