Need some pro advice - Types of Soap and Foam Gun Ratios

The soap I've been using has either been Meg's Gold Class, Mother's California Gold Carnuaba, or a mixture of one of those and Turtle Wax that has honestly given very good results while extending the use of a good product with mixing (great foam, great lubricity).  I'm about to kick off a side business of custom detailing and wondering what recommendations are for a good soap/shampoo that doesn't strip wax, has great lubricity/foam but doesn't break the bank (I've got a lower budget to start with)

What are some soap rec's?

Also, what are was ratios that are being used in a foam gun?  I've been filling the foam gun about halfway with my soap mixture, and half with water...and then get down to it.

Thanks!

Dan

DigiDan- My soap recommendations will be even pricier than what you're using now, so I'll spare you.

The way *I* use a foamgun, I mix about 6.5oz. shampoo/remainder water in a 1 gallon jug and fill the foamgun with that.  I go through well over a gallon (sometimes more than two) of that concentrate per wash.  But again, that's just how *I* do it, which I always suspect is very different from how most people use a foamgun.

Thanks Accumulator!

So that seems like it would potentially be a really watery solution...what are the results like with that ratio?

DigiDan- I *want* it watery as I spray the foamgun's output at the point of wash media-to-paint contact (foamgun in one hand, BHB/mitt in the other).  The watery output helps flush away the dirt.

As I said, this is probably all about how *I* use the foamgun and might not be applicable to anybody else.

I do one/two passes with the foamgun/BHB then switch to either foamgun/mitt (a bit more aggressive but the BHB already got the "big stuff" off) or a rinseless wash.

I use a foam cannon, Autobrite, as follows:

1. Clean wheels & wheel arches without the foam cannon - shampoo in bucket and rinse bucket (not the same ones used for washing the rest of the car) with various brushes. Rinse with HP washer. I also spray off the lower third of the car to get rid of the larger dirt paticles as I rinse each wheel

2. "Foam" the car using an inexpensive but wax safe shampoo mixed +- 1:8. Leave to dwell for 5 minutes.

3. Spray off with HP. I find the top two thirds of the car is 80% clean at this stage

4.Mix Meguiars NXT shampoo 1:8 or 1:10 if the car isnt too dirty plus 2 buckets (one with shampoo and one rinse bucket). Wash as per Accumulator's method except I use 4 wash mitts (2 Deep Pile Microfiber Wash Mitts for top half and 2 "dreadlock" mitts for lower down). I would like to try BH brushes but can't find them in SA

I find the Megs NXT shampoo to have both good lubricity and cleaning ability

Tip: Mix your shampoo with hot water in the foam cannon
