Need some help, what would you do here?

This is my Audi. It has some caked on black crud that appears to be tar. I used Autoglym tar remover and others but nothing seems to work, I worked the products in with a bug scrub brush. I let the detergents sit for 1-3 minutes like instructed. I couldn't remove anyhting and didnt want to be too abusive to the paint, any help would be great! Here are some pics of the areas and my car. On the problem parts some parts are paint chips but others are on top of the paint.

It certainly looks to be tar or road oil. WD-40 takes off a lot of that kind of crap from inside my wheelwells. Kerosene seems to do just as good and is a lot cheaper if you have it available.

I tried a bug/tar remover for the first time last week. It was Einzett's B&T remover, and it worked great. It took a little bit of rubbing to get the tar off, but after about 2 minutes, I had one rocker panel completely clear of tar...and there were a lot of tar spots.
Did you try Einzett B&T Remover?

Those, and prepsol work very well for me.
Also, I like to get my fingernails right on the tar and
scrape it off after letting the solvent soak for a bit.
The important thing to remember is that more often
than not, you won't get the tar off the first time. It
usually requires a few applications of solvent to finally
break the stuff down so you can totally remove it in
whatever fashion suits you.

I have had some success with a cutting pad on a PC and DACP. I also used a heavy cut from Meg's with a cutting pad on a PC with success. That looks to be either a rubber trim or plastic trim. Don't use a rotary on it or you could burn it or scuff it up. I just ran into this about a week ago, I will see if I can find before and after pics for you. Then you can decide on your own.

Before:

Notice the Black spots on the plastic(lower part of panel), and just above that was a smooth rubber trim. That also had some on it.

After:

It is hard to see, but it is gone.

If you go this route just be careful. Better to be safe then sorry.
