Need some advice

I'm going to purchasing a PC 7424, and need some advise on accessories. I want to start out with the minimum needed, and then get more if I find I have the time to spend on detailing the car.

I currently have an '07 Porsche Cayman S in speed yellow with about 8K miles. I've been very careful with the car and the paint has very minor swirls (very hard to see in the sun). I want the paint to be perfect.

My current routine is:

Wash with dawn

Clay

Wash again with dawn

Klasse AIO

Klasse SG

3m Pefect it paste wax

FK425

I really like the durability of Klasse and 3M. My question is what pad and polish to use with the PC after claying. I was thinking to use a white CCS pad and either Menzerma Finish Polish or 106ff. Is the clear coat on Porsches considered scratch resistant? I have Klasse AIO, could it be used on a PC to remove minor swirls? Also after polishing do I apply a glaze then Klasse AIO or will the glaze be useless?

My wife is also getting a new Nissan Rouge, and I wanted the best polish and pad to prep if when I pick it up. I told the dealership not to wash it.

Thanks

For the 7424, get the EDGE foam pad and connection system. The quick disconnect and two in one pads are a great help! Also I really like their foam selections, prices, and great service.

Also keep the Ultima products in mind. I have had very good luck with the PPP and PGP. Search the forum for more details and Utlima and EDGE product reviews.

Also check out YouTube for reviews and tutorials of products in use.

mighty,

I also have an 07 cayman in meteor gray. I did a polish using the PC. The Porsche clear coat is supposedly soft but I can tell you I polished on it a long time to see any improvement. I used a meguires red pad (cutting pad) and optimum compound I had water etching I was trying to improve. It did really clean up nicely. I followed with optimum polish on a softer pad but it really did not make any difference - the compound polished to a mirror finish. I think I polished the compound all the way out. I followed up with Klasse AIO and Klasse glaze. I did try an experiment with one side glaze and the other side I put PS21 on the glaze - again not much difference but then again both sides looked great. If you are just trying to clean the car up a little I would go with the pad you have and use the more aggressive polish. I have limited experience so others may offer better advice on the pad polish combo but I think you will be polishing a long long time unless you have a polish or pad that can cut a little.
