Which towel is better for drying? Their ultra-soft waffle weave MF towel or the regular waffle weave towel? What is the best Micropak MF towel they have for cleaning and polishing wood grain paneling and dusting dashboards? Thanks!

There's a slight trade-off with the ultra-soft ones, they don't hold as much water. Nonetheless, that's what I use on my "good" vehicles just because softer is better, generally speaking. But on all my other vehicles I use regular WWs with no problems. I guess I'd have it both ways if I were recommeding product/technique to somebody- I'd use regulars for getting the bulk of the water (blotting more than wiping) and then the ultra-softs to get the last little bit of water. Whatever you get, I'd get more than you think you need.

I treat interior wood like soft paint. For dusting, I'd use something nice and plush.

Rannys out of his regular WW he only has the ultra soft ww (at least Sunday when I order he was out). His ultra fine mf towels would work well for interior wood imo.

I do the flood method (remove nozzle and flow water off) so for blotting the remaining puddles I use the waffle weave. I never wipe dry unless I'm using a No Rinse wash in which case I spray the still wet car with a cleaning quick detailer and in that case I would use as soft a wave weave as possible.

I prefer the regular WW - as Accumulator said, they do hold more water.

For polishing interior wood grain, I'd go with the Ultra-Fines. They are the softest and are a good size for the job. In fact, that's what Pak Shak designed and recommends them for.

I still use both regular and ultra-soft ww towels. On my garage queen, it use the ultra-soft and blot it dry. On my DD, I use the regular towel and wipe it dry. I couldn't tell the difference in marring. The regular ww does hold more water, but I would just use an extra ultra-soft towel if it needed it.

I'm thinking of trying a QD spray mixture of QEW or ONR before drying like what racingbeat mentioned.

None the less, they are both excellent towels. I just looked at his web site, the 24x36 regular ww towel seems to be still available.

Yeah, that's the way I approach it. I seem to have "accumulated" ;) a fair number of both types so how much water they hold isn't really an issue for me any more.

Since I can't do the flooding-rinse thing with my current shop's plumbing, I get most of the water off with the Air Wand, which continues to impress me more than I'd expected.

I just got my order in of WW from Ranny this past week. I ordered more of the reg. WW because I love them but I also ordered a couple of the softer WW to try them out. The softer ones don't hold as much water but they did an a great job. It's hard to say which are better since I really like them both. Try them both and see which you like the best
