ok, i've searched for about the past hour and i read so many posts, i think my brain finally gave out so i must resort to slapping another post up. I own a NBP rsx that i bought brand new about 3-4 months ago. there is swirl marks which are pretty much only visible under florescent lighting, and it looks awful (well to me it does). it looks find in the sunlight, cant even notice the swirls. so my question is, i plan on purchasing a PC 7424 from autopia's site, the one thats on sale... along with poorboys ssr 1. i read that polish takes away clearcoat.. is the ssr 1 going to take it away? i read its non - abrasive and clear coat safe.

also, is a claybar going to be necessary? my car feels fine after a wash, smooth like silk (not really but you get the picture) my steps were going to be ...

1) wash with chenelle mit using KIT soap w/ carnuba

2) dry with an absorber

3) SSR 1 with PC 7424 with the pad it comes with... forgot which that is...

4) follow up with a glaze .. not sure which one. (can anyone recommend me one?)

5) Meguairs NXT wax

And one more question, whats the difference between glaze and sealants? I think i have a serious obsession of keeping my car clean but i seem to be lacking the knowledge. can some fellow autopians help me out? i'd be very very appreciated!

1. Washing with Chenille, just inspect the Chenille frequently for debris, and rinse out.

2. Dry with a Waffle Weave for additional safety.

3. SSR 1 is fine for swirls, better for maintenance polishing. Use a light cutting or light polishing pad. SSR2 would be better suited for you. All polishes contain abrasives, abrasives abrade the clear coat. This is what cuts the vertical edges on the swirls and reduces visibility. Cleaners are just that, cleaners, and non abrasive. They clean via chemical procedure.

4. IHG (3M), Vanilla Moose and Red Machine Glaze (Clearkote) Use of either of these may compromise your sealants durability. Just the nature of the beast....

5. NXT is decent, just use monthly, not much better durability then most carnaubas.....

out of the 3 pads in the autopia kit, I would use the middle pad with SSR1. SSR1 is a really like polish, so it may not completely remove your defects. If all else fails, pick up ssr2 in your order.

I use VM and RMG as my go to glazes. Extremely easy to apply, remove, and they look awesome!

NXT is alright, your just oging to have to reapply every few weeks as its durability is lacking.
