Ive been using Megs GC soap and after I was my car, the dust just seems to be attracted to the car! Believe its the soap..

What type of soaps are good at not causing static? Hows megs NXT wash? Thx!

Steve

Would you happen to be drying the car with terry towels or MF towels? Rubbing MF towels on the car will often produce a lot of static for me.

Interesting question. I'm looking forward to more responses. I don't have a garage and it almost always seems within a few hours of washing I get a coating of dust or pollen. I've always thought it just to be one of the problems of my car living outdoors. Now I wonder.

I will add that Sunday I washed my car with Meguiar's Deep Crystal and even this morning was amazed at how well it looked. This was the first time I'd used it in ages as my ususal store that carry Meguiar's products was out of GC. Today, the car has virtually no dust on it. Maybe it is the soap but I thought it might be more the weather conditions.

Bingo! It's the weather. Windier days kick up more airborne dusts and pollen, and then gravity takes over...

Well, it has been hot, humid and vitually no wind. Nothing short of miserable. :(

Any polyester towel will create static but so will cotton if the humidity is high enough. Do what I do, run a battery charger cable from the frame to a water pipe while you dry and polish your car. This will help reduce static build up.
