Need professional opinion. Have paint imperfection. Looks like spider-webbing.

Looking for a professional opinion. Working on a Porsche 911 carrera and the hood has a quarter sized imperfection right in the middle of the hood. Appears to be some spider-webbing under the clear coat. Not sure what exactly the paint has, but is this a problem with the clear coat or did something happen to the paint? Here's a preliminary picture and will send up a few more later. What is the solution besides re-spraying the hood, which is a last resort.

Thanks!

There's no picture showing but if it appears as though it is underneath the clear coat and distinct from a surface defect, it could very well be the beginning of paint failure which is irreversible, especially if it only appears in one specific and well defined spot.

There's no doubt about it. In my opinion, that's paint failure. The only fix for something like that is a repaint.

That's not what we refer to here as "spiderwebbing", which is paint swirls which under certain lighting radiate out like a spiderweb. What you have in your picture is crazed paint, most likely a bird poop etch.

I agree, that looks like a bird pooped and it's eatin into the clear coat. The paint looks like it has cracked up. You can try to wetsand it but I wouldn't expect it to come out....

That's what I thought. Is there anything that be done to hide it for the short term? Suppose heavy wax in that area may disguise it under certain light conditions. Any other ideas while it's waiting for a repaint? Thanks,
