Need Product Advice for Dark Blue Metallic Paint

I'm looking for recommendations for a slick, durable product for a daily driver. I am mostly concerned with paint protection, ease of cleaning, and of course the best look for a dark metallic.

I'm considering:

Zaino z5/z2/zfx

Nxt

Poorboys EX-P

The car is new, paint in good shape.

What products fit the bill?

Thanks for your ideas.

I would go with Zaino for a synthetic lasting shine and I would expand the list to include Souveran from Pinnacle for a good wet carnauba look.

Blackfire is also a good product for darker paint. It's fairly durable, but probably won't last as long as Zaino. It will probably give you more of a deep, wet look though, compared to Zaino. Blackfire can leave a little bit of an oily film that's hard to buff off, but it will come off with the first wash. Just one more system to consider...

For darker colors like yours, try Menzerna FMJ. It a protectant like Zaino, but it has a more "wet" look like wax. It looks very good on red, dark blue and black cars.

I just waxed my wife's red Subie Forester. It looks great. :xyxthumbs

If your car was lighter (like white, silver, light gray), FMJ may not be best choice. My '02 Audi A4 Dolphin Gray (kind of a medium gray) looks good with FMJ, but I'm thinking of trying Zaino, Klasse AIO or something that has a more "metalic" look.

Regards,

Dan.

Dano, I've got All-In-One/Sealant Glaze on my Dolphin Gray A4. But it's lacking depth. It needs carnauba. Can't decide between P21S, Pinnacle Signature, Trade Secret or One Grand Blitz.

NXT looks great on dark blue metallics. It is my go to LSP on that color.

#80 and NXT (both applied with a PC and polishing pads).

Zaino probably is going to last the longest but initial application is a bit more time consuming. NXT and EX-P are both a breeze to use and I get an easy 3-4 months durability from either one.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I appreciate everyones input.

Hey Scottwax, is that Escalade just 2 coats of NXT? Wow! Awesome job.

I have had some real strong opinions point to EX-P and UPP. I need a real slick finish. I wish I could see some finishes up close. I have a friend locally who likes NXT so much, he switched from everything else he uses on his daily driver and his show car.

I have another 2 weeks to make up my mind. Sean is going to detail my car (as there some buffer swirls and I dont want to learn on a brand new car). He said he's got just about everything I could imagine, but after seeing the car and color, EX-P is the way to go.

Having a dark blue metallic car, I'm inclined to recommend nXt based on my results here.
