Have a 02 black z71 suburban that needs a full paint correction. Looking for like 70-80% correction as it sits outside and get abused. Has been sitting outside since 06 with no coatings on the paint and has been beaten to hell and back going through Mikes Carwash. Want to do this on a budget.. What products to use?

I have a GG 6", going to be buying a 5in backing plate.. Dont need MF towels, but do need pads, polish, LSP. I would like to try opti coat or cquarts but they scare me because i dont know much about them and ease of use. They appeal because they are long lasting, but i have no experience with them.

Anyone have experience on GM paint from early 2000s? How hard is correction gonna be?

Paint shouldn't be that hard, probably around medium. A GG6 I'd say give the new LC HD orbital pads a shot. Only 3 colors definitely makes it alot easier. You could probably get away with a medium an heavy cut as long as you have a good AIO. For polish I'd say depends on what your going to do, a 2 stepper use blackfire SRC compound an a finisher such as blackfire SRC finishing polish or 205 or even menz SF4000 if you have light enough marks left.

Since you a bit new this definitely the best bet as far as results an simplicity of product...

Polish
BLACKFIRE Duo 32 oz.

Pads
Lake Country HD Orbital Foam Pads, rupes foam pads

Enter Flat15 an get 15%, you seriously can't go wrong with that.

Dual Action Flexible 5 inch Backing Plate
Lake Country 5.5 Inch Flat Pads 6 Pack - Mix and Match to create your own 6 pack! 3 orange, 3 white (at a minimum), more pads mean you will not have to stop and clean as you work
Meguiars 205 Ultra Fine Polish
Meguiar's Ultra Cut Compound M105
Optimum Gloss-Coat Paint Coating easier to apply than cquartz. don't stress about the gloss coat application, it's very easy, and we like stupid easy around here.:bubba
you'll have a lot of real estate to cover with that suburban, so take your time. if you go with the gloss coat, it'll probably be a good idea to go with the 20cc size that they sell over at AGO so you will definitely have enough to cover the beast.

Good idea. We can upgrade your Gloss-Coat to a 20cc syringe if you place your order over the phone.

This i will do. Would rather the money come here than AutoGeek. Gonna pick up one of those newer opti-clay towels. This thing is gonna have some heavy contaminants, should i buy both or just go with the heavy grade?

Thanks guys for all the help. Gonna place my order tomorrow afternoon after my last final or sometime friday.

EDIT: Vega: How much does the 20cc run in price? Just so i know... im a broke college kid gotta budget :(
