Need Opinions

I am looking for the best polisher available for someone who wants to detail their car, but is NOT a professional detailer. I have never used a polisher. I will be using it on a Z4 (black) with Zaino products. Can you recommend a polisher? UDM, PC, Flex 3401 ? Thanks.

Well...you're going to get a lot of opinions on that one. Been a lot of UDM problems (hard to say how isolated these are without knowing the total sold, and whether those were just teething problems). Meg's is coming out with a new polisher that looks a lot like a UDM, perhaps with some improvements. Flex seems to be a great machine, perhaps a little larger and with a little less backing plate selection. PC is extinct, I think, although you may be able to find some or perhaps used. Up until this year, the PC was the standard machine for the enthusiast detailer, so you probably can't go wrong with it or any of the others.
 
The Flex is probably the best. I like my Ridgid 2610 (2611 is the newer model) from Home Depot. IMO the PC just lacks power. The downside to the flex or Ridgid is that you have to use 6.5 inch pads.
