Hey all-
I did a full detail on my 02 mustang over July 4rth weekend with my PC, using the Sonus DAS Orange pad and Menerza IP and then topped with Z5pro (3x with zfx, used z8 in between). I think it came out really well (it is definitenly the best the car has looked so far!) but after seeing it in bright sunlight this week, I noticed a few scratches/fine cobwebs/marring that were still there.
The question is, if I want to try something more aggressive to get out the remaining swirls, what should I try next? I did some searching and here are some options I came up with:
1- get a Lake Country yellow pad (more cutting ability than the sonus orange) or a Propel Orange pad, and try again with the IP.
2- get a stronger polish - something like Meguire's DACP? Poorboys SSR 2.5? What other suggestions would you have for a polish that is stronger than IP that would work well for someone that is relatively new to this? What pad would I try this with?
3- get a set of 4" pads and backing plate, and try again with the IP
Anyone have an opinion? What would you recommend I try next?
I give you guys lots of credit for all the swirl-free pics I've seen so far - it took me hours to do this and it still wasn't perfect! Maybe I need better lighting in the garage....but that's another question
Thanks!
