Southerndetail is selling his biz in this thread http://www.detailcity.org/forums/marketing-strategies/25121-moving-pa.html
you might want to contact him about working with him until he sells it or maybe you might want to purchase it after you learn the ins and outs :)

Dealerships are also a good starting point for detailing experience...or if there is a detail shop in your area they might be hiring...

Beemer is right. You can work at a dealership and learn exactly what NOT to do. :D

JP...its really hard for a new guy to make a break into this industry...not all dealerships are a bad...I think that's common belief...But at least he can get some work in the detailing area and get started...plus making some money at it

I was just ribbin' Dave. Watch out, I might pull out a gun on you. :D :rofl

You could also try looking at body shops.
Bonus on that is you could pick up on some wet sanding practice

Ive ofter to work for $50 a day at a body shop, just to learn. I can buff a car out alright just not good enough to make a living at it. I would like it to be like perfect

The only way to get better is to practice.
If they are willing to give you a shot, practice there and move on to other places.

Good luck
