Need help with pads

I have been using the older verison of the sonus SFX polisher kit, blue white and yellow pads, paired with poorboys SSR's.. I had great luck with them on my pearl explorer. and a yellow honda s2000.. Last summer I did a white 99 a6, and black 99 es300.. The clear on the audi was no match for these pads...they did improve the clearity of the paint but I wasnt impressed.. as for the black es300 same deal.. looked good but wasnt perfect.. The paint was still a bit dull is some areas. I am looking for new pads that will give me better cutting power, with less time spent on the vehicle. I am using the pc that came with the kit.. what pads should I get to replace the old ones.

Have you tried color sanding prior to the use of the polish? Quality color sanding makes polishing easier, quicker and gets better results. Just be cautious with the abrasives til you get the feel for it. Start out with fine 2500 grit paper to see how it cuts the scratches and orange peel, if it isn't cutting it, try the next coarser 2000 grit. Follow this process til you get to the paper that just cuts the orange peel or scratches out and then go back up numerically to the finer paper. Always use a spray bottle with a mix of filtered water and a drop or two of dish liquid to lubricate the paper and sanding surface. Use a small squeegee to check your progress, once the surface is evenly dull, go to the next finer paper. Practice on a panel or car you know can use the help but doesn't matter enough to worry about having to pay through the nose if you screw up. I'm certain there is a family member or friend who has a winter car or car they never/rarely clean. They just might be all gung ho if you want to practice on their car.
