need help with craftman buffer

I am newbie here and need help using the craftman buffer.

I bought the 10" craftman buffer yesterday and planning to use this weekend, hopefully it's a nice day here in Seattle.

The buffer package came with blue bonnets, terry towels bonnet and wool bonnets. Now my question is which bonnet is for polishing and which one is for waxing?

thanks,

c0ki

ps: my car is black GOLF 2001. It has clear coat.

the blue ones are for application, the white for removal or application and the wool should just be thrown out or stored away...have fun! that 10" is a pain to get into spaces with...i had one before I switched to a 7"...good luck though!

When I used one..long ago..I think i used the wool and put a MF bonnet on top of it, or Terry bonnet over it.....This was to buf out the product..Thats the only reason to use the wool.....

When I had mine I went to Pep boys and bought there Foam pads...But if you can swing, upgrade to a Porter cable !!!

I've got the Craftsman orbital (only when I purchased it about 15 years ago it came as a 9" model) and like Dcop said, it is a bit of a PITA getting into certain spots. I think a 6" is about as big as I would go now. I've always used nothing but the terry bonnets from sears for applying polish or wax and have never had a problem with swirls. I've not used it for removing product, only application. I've seen those blue, synthetic bonnets and I agree they seem a little rough. I wouldn't use them. I've also seen they now have foam applicator bonnets which might be worth a try.

Even given it's shortcomings of being a bit underpowered and oversized, it works fairly well and has given me many years of trouble free operation.

LOL....man that was quick! Good luck with the PC. I've already dropped a few not too subtle hints about a Father's Day gift :D .

I have an other question. I have the meguairs three step: the wax cleaner, polish, and gold class wax. These are the steps that I used to do with hand.

Would these products suitable to use with PC?

Lowes locally..In your search of Porter cables there are several..

Also there are different varities..7424 is the one I have.

You'll need to order pads...CMA is a ood place...and a back plate...

CMA also...PC runs between 109 and 175 dollars, depends where you buy it..
