Quick question....

I have a job that was schedulled at the last minute today. One of the cars (a black MB) has an average amount of swirls. I currently do not have a PC.

But, I do have an orbital buffer. I have tried SMR w/ this buffer and it does not yeild the best results. (8400opm WEN 8" in. random orbit) Am I doing somthing wrong with the buffer?

Next question. I have a lot of products that should remove or at least cover up swirls. I need the car looking its best TODAY. I will go back next time and work on removing them. I will also only have about 2 hours to work on the exterior.

List of SMRing prodcts I have:

zymol c/w

mothers c/w

meg's c/w

liquid lustre c/w

3M SMR

meg's #9, #7

liquid glass

meg's scratch-x

TW rubbing and polishing compound.... eww

Out of these products... which would cover up the most swirls in the least amount of time?

I do understand that the swirls wont be permanately removed by most of these products, but again he just needs the car looking its best for a few days. Gotta work in an hour... a fast responce is appreciated.

THANK YOU GUYS!

looking its best for just a few days only?? And then you get the chance to do a more thorough job.....

well, you can get it looking good for about a month +/- by using a glaze product under some wax. Here's my recommendation:

- Meg's C/W (step 1) to "remove" some swirls.

- Meg's #7 (step 2) to "hide" the rest temporarilly.

Then use some kind of non-cleaner wax (do you have any #26?? This is best..... or you can use blitz/PPG/PS/S100 if you have any of the above)

Good luck!! Now WORK WORK WORK!! (BTW, those steps along with a dawn wash (I assume you're doing that first) should come out about 2 hours dead even.)

So how about this....

GC wash (Do I need a Dawn wash here? Wouldnt the cleaners in the c/w remove any old stuff?)

c/w

dawn wash (necessary?)

1 or 2x #7

I want to try the Zymol Carbon thats been in my fridge for 6 months :D

Ill try to get some pics if I can. Thanks SLD and SRL!!

I would do dawn wash before the cleaner wax, dont bother doing it after, the #7 should layer on top of cleaner wax without problems. If you do #7 twice, be sure to let it cure really well before putting on the second coat or it won't layer well enough to do any good.

Zymol Carbon...... Mmmmmm...... :up
