need help preping trunk for spoiler installation

i order a after market lip spoiler for my acura TL over the weekend and its on it way now but before i install i need to get the surface clean before installing it. i was thinking of washing,claying, washing agian before i install the spoiler because it attach using 3m double slided tape. i was told i can use alcohol as my last step but wound't that hurt my paint?

i use natty was and ex-p about 2 month ago.

any suggestion?

The alcohol won't do any harm to your paint. It was recomended because the tape wouldn't bond to good to a waxed surface. The alcohol will remove that left over wax. If you are concerned, pick up some 3M Wax and Adhesive remover which will generally be the same as the alcohol in prepping the surface. Just rewax around the area once the wing is on to ensure protection around it.
 
Clay and alcohol will clean the area, if you don't want to buy the 3M for one reason only....also don't forget to clean the bottom of the wing that is going to come in contact with the truck lid
