Need help cleaning motor.

I always keep my motor compartment clean, started when it was new and its easy to maintain.



I took my car into the dealer for a new water pump under warranty and just got it back.



Hardwater stains on the windows and paint that I polished out.



They forgot to put a clamp on thle bottom hose and when it got hot while I was driving the hose came off and the coolant drenched my motor, the hot coolant mixed with the dust on my motor and whe whole campartment is a mess, stained and greasy crud on everything, fan blades firewall, all the black plastic ect.



Any ideas on how to clean the whole compartment, years ago I used spray degreaser and a high power hose but have read here that you should not use high presser water on the new cars.

Try some engine cleaner on the engine itself and some simple green or other gentler cleaner on the underside of the hood.



If you have to use some water pressure either cover your distrubutor and your fuse box with plastic bags or don't get near them.:up

Maybe try covering all sensitive parts with foil then using the degreaser and high water pressure
 
Are the hard water stains on the window the same type stain that is on the engine and plastic parts? I believe you have a real challenge ahead of you just thinking about hot anti-freeze and perhaps rust stain form the cooling system sprayed everywhere. Perhaps alcohol will help.

No the windows and paint staines look like they parked it under a sprinkler and it dried, I got them off.



The stains on the black paint, plastic, cast and rubber in the motor compartment ar from the radiator hose comming off and the fan blowing the coolant all over.



There is a lot of dust in the air in Stockton and the hot coolant mixed with the dust on my motor.



My truck is white and the white paint in the motor compartment cleaned up nice with Mothers Showtime but the cast, black rubber, black paint and black plastic won't seem to clean up.:sosad
 
I'd try a mixture of distilled water and white vinegar, to see if it helped remove the antifreeze water stains.



Pressure washer is a good idea, too. Pre-treat with the water/vinegar to see if it helps.



At least you didn't blow out a coilover strut like I did today driving across some really rough roads in Mississippi on my way to NOPI.
 
I have used S100 engine cleaner on my Harley. I spray it on the engine and let it soak a while, agitate it with a brush to hit the oily spots and rinse with water. This is an excellent product that brightens up the aluminum and is safe for most things you might find under the hood. (Plastic, paint etc.)

Yep, you can find it right next to the wax at your local Harley shop.
