Need good lighting for outdoor detailing

OK, so I have the Brkmann light. However, under this light, I am only seeing some correction. I can see that surface scratches and swirls are removed. However, in sunlight, there are sometimes other marring that it's not picking up. I do not want to move a car back and forth while working- into the sun and back.

Do halogen worklights do well outside? Anyone have a setup that works well for them? I need to invest a bit of money into a better outdoor lighting system that picks up better.

Thanks, Rob

Rob, have you used one of the LED Brinkmanns? I find that to be more effective than the Xenon one if I'm doing an inspection outdoors.

I have not. Do you have a link? I have playing a lot with Mf and UNO with my Griots and Flex over the last two weeks. I can still find some marring that is not showing under the light- big, big improvements, but not there yet. I went over a section today that had some marring from yesterday with cc and MF pad and it finished very well, but would rather just get it right the first time! :)

On the plus side, the van I am using as a tester is really popping in terms of paint and clarity. I thought it was white before, but now need shades to look at it in the sun!

Thanks and I'll order one of the lights.

Use a very powerful LED in the shade, I have an Ultrafire 225 lumen one. Dealextreme has a ton of high-quality flashlights for baragin prices, the only downside is shipping from china takes 2 weeks but it's free.
