Need good body shops on Long Island!

Great body shops are hard to find! Too many hacks! I used to have a great one, but the owner sold his share and the business went down teh tubes ever since.

The only one I could offer as asuggestion for you to check out is (I believe it is) Elctra Autobody in Lindenhurst. I have seen him do a bunch of paint work on my buddy's show cars and it always looked great, even with difficult to match colors. Not sure how good is actual body work is though. It's wortha shot and I can always call my buddy who is friends with the owner to put in a good word.

My mind is drawing a blank, but if you are in Suffolk County there is a very good place I believe in Bohemia (right by the McCarthur airport). Owners are Tom and Dave, but not sure of the business name. They completely redid my brother's 72 Nova SS to a showcar finish, and are in the process of doing his 86 Monte Carlo SS right now. Excellent work, no orange peel whatsoever, 10x better than factory. They have done a lot of work for my family over many years so I think we save a little cash, but they are definitely reasonable if you're looking for something very good.

I'll get more info and possibly a pic of my brothers car later tonight when he is home.

I just recently detailed a car that was done by Electra and it look pretty good. Just dont let them buff out the whole car for you

I hear you there. I don't think I have ever seen a bodyshop yet that knows how to finish paint! They always wanna save money and give a guy a wheel, wool pad, and $8Hr to finish the job.

One last bump...I would prefer Nassau County body shops...thanks a lot.

So far I am deciding on Barron's Body Works in Mineola..anybody have experience with them? They are also listed under the better business bureau and have a clean record,
