Need another swirl/scratch removal option

I have tried ScratchX, by hand, to remove to remove some swirls and scratches in the clear coat of my Indigo Blue VW Passat but it was not helpful. I am planning on purchasing a PC 7424. Any opinion on what products to use with this device and who to purchase from?

I have already clayed the car and finish is very smooth should I avoid doing anything else to it until I work on the swirls? I was going to use Meg's NXT wax next should I hold off?

Thanks.

I think you are already pursuing the next best option which is to get the PC 7424; that should make a world of difference from trying to remove swirl marks/scratches by hand. If you do a quick search on "swirl remover" or read the product reviews (which I found enormously helpful when considering polishes), I'm sure you will find a wealth of info and product recommendations to choose from, most of which are available from board sponsors at reasonable prices.

Good luck,

Nick

I quite like Optimum's kit if I'm going to use a PC - Optimum Polish is very newbie-friendly, and their compound and hyper compound are the most PC-friendly paint levelers on the market, IMHO.

Using NXT now is fine - it'll help hide some of the imperfections until you get your PC, and it'll polish off easily when doing paint correction with the PC.

I also hand applied scratch X to my whole vehicle. I pressed hard and made over 15 passes with the applicator to each area. It took out all of the fine cob web swirls and made my red color deep and shiny. Ill prolly have to spend money on a polisher to. With hand polishing you car is good from far, but far from good
