hey guys i just recently put some scratchs in the clear coat from a waterblade and bad applicator pad. i have scratchs that are visible in direct light. the car is brand new and i was wondering what to use to get rid of the scratchs before i start my zaino cycle. i ask because i dont want to go too abbrasive since the car is new. any advice on products for my situation would be great. i was thinkin maybe scratch x but maybe its too abbrassive for my new car. a dual action cleaner/ scratch remover would work too.

Well regardless of how new your car is, you still have to use an appropriately strong product to do the job.

If these are very light scratches and not terribly deep, Scratch-X may do the job. It's a pretty safe place to start and isn't harsh at all. What other products do you have, if any?

Can you feel the scratches with your fingernail?

ok... i dont use the water blade anymore only microfiber towels... second when i meant scratchs they were spider web scratchs in the clear cloat going up and down the car. i have 3m perfect it II rubbing compound but thats a medium cut and i feel that is too aggressive for my new paint. so im askin what would take out "minour swirls" safely

Swirls if they are bad, #83 DACP or #82 SFP with a PC and a polish pad. Work the DACP until broken down, then follow with SFP or #9 and #81 Hand Polish for that deep gloss.

I would try the least abrasive first, like SFP/#9, if this does not get them out, step up to DACP.

DACP is very good at removing swirls and light scratches. It may dull the finish, but a pass with SFP or of you like 3M, Perfect-It III Machine Glaze. I've switched from using #7 Show Car Glaze to #81 Hand Polish as it's easier to remove and gets the results!

I've also used Clearkote VM, Menzerna FP and Car Polishes Final Polish. All have good results, it's just how you apply/use them and for what type of finish.

ya im thinkin about using DACP and then rewashing and starting my zaino cylce. ever since ive tryed zaino i love it because it protects so well and lasts long. the only problem i have right now is fixing my mistakes and re preping my car so i can start the zaino allover again without scratching my car with piece of crap accessories

Go for the DACP, then finish with your fav final polish.

Wash one more time with Z6 to strip any oils from polishes, dry, Z6 the finish and apply the Z5/Z2 once again.

Or, give the new Megs NXT a try... Not bad from what I'm seeing!

Yes, I'm a Zaino user, and I top it now and then with Souveran just to deepen the effect.

I trust you have a PC, so grab it, and a new polish pad and your DACP and get the swirls out! DACP does the trick!

after i use the DACP should u dawn wash it or just use Z6 then top with Z5?

P.S. i have a porta cable i love it i think i get better results useing it with zaino than by hand
