Need Advice!! "Heavy Halograms

hey guys. I have an SSR here at my place that i have as long as i want. It has some very heavy swirling, that i removed using IP and 5.5" LCC White pad on my Rotary.

The IP left some very heavy swirls on the truck, which is to be expected, and i was planning on polishing them out with Nano(grey pad) and a 85rd(blue pad)..

However, after that, the Halograming is MUCH better, but there is still evidence of it being there??? finish polishing with nano and 85rd are being done at about 1200 rpm

I even tried IP on a green lcc pad then the nano 85rd after and it still remains?????

i need some serious advice...im stuck

Do you have a buffer besides your rotary? I would think that 85rd applied by PC or UDM on a blue pad would take care of the holograms.

i do have a pc, but dont really want to waste my time with it. I know there is a solution to this issue with a rotary...any hints?

I think what Joel is hinting at is that even sometimes with the right products finishing out with a rotary 100% hologram free can be VERY difficult. Many seasoned pros reach for an alternate machine for a final pass...no shame in that.

I too finish with a non-rotary (as does Mike Phillips at Meguiar's, who's been using a rotary for decades). Not a waste of time IMO if it does the job.

Sounds like a technique problem which is impossible to diagnos on the internet. Could be working too long, too short, too much product, too little product, too much pressure, too little pressure, etc....
