Need advice for dull Silver Metalic Paint

I just got a Solara Convertible this week which is Lunar Mist (Silver Metalic).

The paint seems kind of dull. How can I get the paint to shine again without spending a lot?

I have a little klasse left in my garage but not enough for a whole car. I have some Mothers yellow carnuba wax, and I have some 3m hand glaze as well. Or I can go buy some new product. I just want it to shine as best as it can again without spending too much. Thanks in advance.

Grab some Ultimate Compound, SwirlX and NXT from WalMart. Its going to be a total PIA to do it by hand but they will get your gloss back and NXT will amp it up.

I will look in to them all (I never heard of 2 of them) but there arent any swirls and I'm not sure it needs compound. The paint is very good. I may Just need a good glaze to make it pop a bit. :)

If you want a temporary fix, a glaze is a great idea, especially by hand. If you want to fix the haziness from using cheap compound permanently, you'll need a quality compound (Ultimate) and a decent polish (SwirlX).

Keep in mind that unless you use a machine to abrade/level/remove the dullness away, pretty much most of the improvement you achieve will only be temporary. I suggest Autoglym Super Resin Polish (SRP) which is a All In One (AIO) product that will do a decent job of cleaning, correcting and leaving a decent amout of protection behind. Here's what the product can do:

Thanks for all the replies guys. The paint is in very good shape. Maybe I explained the situation poorly. I apologize for that. I just want the paint to stand out more. I dont want to spend money on a buffer even though I know they can do some great work in experienced hands.

Thanks for the suggestions on the glazes. What would be the best over the counter glaze that I can buy locally and apply by hand?

Autoglym SRP from PepBoys or NXT (it is an ok filler and adds lots of depth like a glaze).

I never heard of either one but I will look in to them. Thanks a bunch for your help! :)

Oh by the way any opinion on 3m hand glaze or Meguiers #7 hand glaze?

I couldnt find the auto glym so I went with Meguiars show car glaze #7. It seems to have done the trick so I'm happy. The car looks pretty good now. Thanks for all the help. :)
