Need a great Wheel/Exhaust LSP

Hey everyone,

I am in desparate need for some wheel / exhaust tip polish. Fortunately, I haven't ran across any exhaust tips that couldn't be cured with basic stuff, but I am sure in due time I will get a car with aftermarket exhaust that needs some serious products to bring it up to speed! The same goes for wheels.

Anyways, I have seen Optimum Metal Polish, Chemical Guys Wheel Wax, etc. and I am completly unsure what to get. On my fiance's car, she has chrome and it likes to spot up a lot and I'd like to know what would be the best method to remove the spots. Also, is there a difference between a polish/wax when it comes to wheels, or do both accomplish the same objective?

I have D103 APC, and ONR, but I need a great LSP for wheels and exhaust. I have searched around and found a few ideas which I mentioned above, but I'd like to get a few opinions on what is good enough to use on your car and a customers.

Thanks again all for the great advice. This really is a great forum.

DG 105 is bery dirable and inexpensive. Optimum Metal Polish is very good. I use it then apply DG 601 and let it haze. Then I apply DG105. This is superior to anything else I have used. I have chrome wheels BTW. Also works great on exhaust tips.

P21S Metal polish for the tips.

It's almost like saddle soap where you dampen the supplied sponge and wipe off the product unto the sponge. Apply, and either rinse or buff off-makes the water bead- so there's some type of protection thats left.

On your wheels you need to be careful. A metal polish may scratch/swirl any clear coat or PVD finish on the wheels-even some chrome wheels are coated-just ask Ram truck owners. Test spot first.

I would tend to treat almost any wheel as a painted surface.
