need a few answers on paint

I have a few chances comming up to do a Maserati, and a couple BMW's and one AMG55 Mercedes i have never worked on either type before so can anyone tell me how hard/soft the paint may be on all three types of cars.

I have the folowing things to use and this is not a complete list.

1. Pc

2.flex with edge adaptor

3.dewalt 849 which i won't use being i am new to a rotary.

pads PFW, yellow foam, orange ,white, blue, grey.

Edge green and blue and soft white and also edge blue wool

polishes mez SIP ,106 and IP along with megs DHCP .some megs 81 mostley looking at using the mez line for all cars. i have no idea what they look like being i haven't seen any of them yet. I just got call to do the 2002 AMG 55 .The others are to follow when i am finished with the AMG 55

Any tips or advice i thank you all ahead of time for.

It's been too long since I've used a PC for me to give you advice about how to go about polishing those cars with a RO. I can tell you that both of my bimmers have rock hard clearcoats and if you don't go with a rotary (which is what I use exclusively for my cars) then you will be working a long time to get any real correction. I guess 4" pads may help you some, but I've not personally verified this. I have polished some Mercs before, and they had very hard clearcoats as well. My cars are Cosmos Black and Imola Red, and I've heard there is an exception to the hard CC rule with bimmers. The exception being Jet Black....people claim the CC on this color is unbelievably soft. Again I can't confirm or deny this.

thanks for the answer very much!! i'll see how the flex works out it's way to soon for me to use a rotary for a car like this and the others.but i may give it a try on some flat spots just to see at 1000 to 1200 i don't see where i could do much damage with a softer pad if i am being extra carefull..
