Necessary to Dawn after 3M polish job, before the Zaino?

If i just applied numerous 3M polishing products to my car, can i apply zaino after a wash w/out dawn? Or do I need to dawn wash the whole car before the zaino?
 
I'm not a Zaino user, but from what I understand, you MUST start with Z1 before anything unless you're starting off with ZFX, in which case yes, you'll need to Dawn wash.... :nixweiss
 
Personally I would Dawn wash prior to applying any initial protectant. I love the way Dawn removes all oil based products on the finish. I must say that my paint ( base protected by 60 - 80 coats of Zaino) always appears its best after it's bi-yearly Dawn washing. It cleans everything off the Zaino/BF top surface and leads to a good base for subsequent layering of protection.:wavey
