Nattys Blue or "regular" Natty's?

I didn't want to hijack the previous post concerning carnaubas, but I'd like to ask Natty's Blue users about how it compares to "regular" Natty's.

A lot of folks offered Nattys Blue ( but did not specify if that choice was only for black/ dark paint.) Do any of you actually find it "superior" to regular Nattys on lighter colors (esp metallics), or were you talking only about dark finishes?

Also, could anyone compare Natty's Blue to the following (*on both LIGHT METALLICS and BLACK/DARK colors):

1) Clearkote Carnauba Moose Wax

2) S100

Thanks for your input!

I do know that Nattys Blue is for dark paint although I havent tried it yet. I am a solid user of P21S and have looked into S100. From what I can tell about S100, It is tha same product at half the price and can be found at any Harley dealer. The container, applicator, fragrence and feel are identical. Im going to pick some up once I get back to the Harley shop. I would like to know the differece between the Nattys though besides what they say on their website about the blue being for dark colors.

I use Nattys Blue on my Azure Blue Mach 1. It goes on very easy, but can be a bit stubborn to remove if in direct sun or applied too thick. I find if I have a few thick spots, a quick mist of S&G makes them disappear. It does make the color appear a little darker and will hide some minor imperfections (which I never got with Nattys Original). Works fantastic if you spit shine it with OCW. But bear in mind, I am using it on a non metallic darker color. I have read posts of other (I think it was SilverLexus) that use Nattys Blue on silver metallics and still had good pop on the flake, no muting at all.

I just got a bottle of CMW, and did a comparison to Blue this past weekend. Though I did like the easy of using a liquid wax with my PC, I found CMW to leave some white residue in crevices and dusts more than Nattys. Looks wise on a well prepped surface, I would have to say it is too close for me to call. I would give the edge to Nattys if you didnt polish before hand. Slickness is too close to call and its too soon for durability.

I have found the OCW to be my favorite lately for lighter colors. Goes on like a quick detailer, leaves a clear and bright shine with great staying power. Looks fantastic all by itself. Some people (GRStilez for one) got 3-4 months of protection on outdoor daily drivers with just one coat. For the price and ease of use, I would give that some consideration as well, even if you use it as a final layer for extra slickness and protection.

I have used Blue on gold cars and it looks great. It is deeper and wetter than P21S or S100 but I have not tried the Clearkote wax yet.

I prefer it to regular Nattys but that product is easier to apply and remove and smells better. Either Nattys you can't go wrong.

Thanks for the opinions, guys! S100 is my favorite carnauba on light metallic paint, but I want to surpass the look! I recently bought CK Carnauba Moose Wax; it looks good, but not as good as I had hoped - S100 def. looks wetter and deeper on my light gold metallic (though I expect the CK will look even better on black/dark colors).

I'll probably buy one each of Natty's, but I figured if many people find Natty's Blue to look better even on light finishes than "reg" Natty's, I'd just buy that. (I'll also be detailing some friends' cars, half of them dark colors).

On black paint, Natty's Blue will look wetter than CMW but not as rich and deep. What I like to do it apply CMW the Natty's Blue the next time I wash it. :)

Thanks, Scott; so you mean you apply Natty's Blue over the CMW, or vice-versa?

Also, could you tell me which Natty's looks better on light colors IYO; I know the Blue was designed for darks.

Well said. Over the years I've collected Natty's, Natty's Blue, Natty's Red, and P21S. I use Natty's Blue regularly, even though I agree with the application/removal criticism mentioned above. The others pretty much stay on the shelf. My personal comparison - even on light colors, I much prefer NB to P21S. While it doesn't add a touch of darkness, it does seem to add wetness & reflectivity.

So, even if you don't have to get just one, I'd probably still recommend NB. :D
